The focus of the meeting was productivity issues and lessons for fiscal policy learnt in the wake of the crises of recent years.
The ministers discussed common productivity challenges in the Nordic countries and shared experiences in relation to national measures and reforms to bolster productivity growth, employment, and growth potential in the Nordic countries. Productivity growth is an important prerequisite for economic growth and prosperity in the Nordic countries. At the meeting, the ministers were presented with the preliminary conclusions and recommendations from the sub-report of the Swedish government’s Productivity Commission.
