A New Tool to Capture the Costs of Renewable Electricity Production

By estimating how wind power and other weather-dependent electricity production affect the costs of maintaining the reliability of the electricity supply, it is possible to calculate where in the electricity grid such investments should be located. This project will develop a method for making such estimates and how local connection tariffs can be calculated to guide where investments in new electricity production provide the greatest socio-economic benefit.
