Firms, Labor Markets, and Occupational Health Risks
Occupational health risks put a significant strain on the economy. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work estimates that in Sweden, the direct and indirect costs of work-related injuries and diseases account for four per cent of the GDP. In this project, we empirically study occupational health risks using prescription and hospitalization records for the entire population merged with detailed data on firms, firm ownership, and corporate governance.
